The blockbuster musical opened in the West End at the Prince Edward Theatre in 1999. After a couple of years, the musical was transferred to the Prince of Wales Theatre in 2004. In 2012, Mamma Mia reopened at the Novello Theatre, where it celebrated its 20th West End birthday in 2019. In London alone, Mamma Mia has been seen by over 9 million and broken countless box-office records in the process. The stunning Mazz Murray, who played Mama Morton in Chicago, heads the cast as Donna. She is joined on stage by Kirsty Hoiles as Tanya, Cameron Burt as Sky, Melissa Nettleford as Ali, Sophie Matthew as Lisa, Taylor Bradshaw as Eddie, and Danny Nattrass as Pepper.
The Story
Mamma Mia! is the story of Sophie and her memorable quest to find her father. Her mother, an independent hotel owner in the Greek Islands, prepares for her wedding and Sophie hatches a plan to find out who her father is. As her wedding day approaches and there’s no father to walk her down the aisle, Sophie invites three men from her mother’s past to finally find out who her real father is.
